Many people do not know that bacteria can depress the freezing point, helping increase productivity and reduce risk in areas where your crop may be prone to frost. How can a bacterium do that? In this case, one of our products’ star performers, Bacillus subtilis, stimulates the production of enzymes that surge through the vascular cambium and up the xylem. These enzymes cause a change on the leaf surface. This change, in turn, deters nucleation microbes. In simple terms, this is an example of how one of our products’ components produces AFPs, antifreeze proteins. Many Natural Biota products, such as BIOTA-Plus+ can:
